Mirca settlement

Mirca is a small settlement located approximately 3 km westward from Supetar, in the direction of Sutivan on the northern side of the Island of Brač. It was established in 1579. The Parish church Our Lady of Mirca was built in 1733. In the church, there is an altar painting “Pieta” by Supetar painter Felix Tironi in 1783.

Mirca is distinguished by characteristically rustic mood of a small Mediterranean settlement. Beautifully sandy beaches in the shade of pine trees offer a true Mediterranean atmosphere, far away from the hustle and bustle of the modern life. Serenity of the settlement and preserved nature, vicinity to Supetar, main ferry port of the Island of Brač, make Mirca an interesting family destination and for guests who wish to experience the authentic atmosphere of the life on an island. Mirca was also specially loved by the best Croatian poet Tin Ujević.
